Julia Tyson, Executive Coach

Julia is part of the part of the Advanced Boardroom Excellence corporate governance and coaching team. She provides support as a governance consultant with a focus on remuneration alignment, cultural and behavioural oversight, executive career planning and CRS effectiveness.

Julia’s focus in her last 2 corporate roles at LV= (Liverpool Victoria) and Wates was working with the Chairman on board effectiveness, development, succession and CEO transition. She is an expert in effective change and driving the cultural agenda to achieve consistency and embedded values, creating inclusive and high engagement environments. Julia also has a track record of the change and cultural oversight during takeovers, integration and divestment activity.

In addition to working with Chairman to the FTSE 100 corporate governance standards, Julia has held NED and Board Membership roles across the FTSE 350, and Construction and Industry Bodies, including Membership of the Audit and Remuneration Committees (FTSE 350), Chair of Diversity Forum UKCG (now UK Build) and Member of the CBI Employment & Skills Advisory Board.

Julia’s corporate HR career has been most recently as Group HR Director at LV= (Liverpool Victoria) and previously at Wates the privately-owned Construction company. While at LV= she led the achievement of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies and the attainment of the ‘ST Give Something Back Award’. Her career spans over 30 years across multiple sectors including financial services, construction, energy, logistics and manufacturing, including senior HR roles at Centrica, Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays Capital.

Julia is a qualified executive coach from Henley Business School, a fellow of the CIPD and has a BSc (hons) in geography.
